Grandma, Mom and Claire Hit The Northwest Flower & Garden Show

Well what was meant to be a day with mom and grandma turned out to include our little Claire bear too! After mommy called in and answered the "genius test" daily question correctly on a local radio station one morning (KMPS) I won two tickets for the final Seattle/Northwest Flower and Garden Show. The show was at the Seattle convention center and has been going on since Tuesday of this last week - today was the final day of the final show (which is still surprising to me - there were thousands of people there! But apparently the crowds have thinned over the years to the point of putting the entire show on hold until the economy picks up)

Here's Claire enjoying the beautiful flower arrangements in the welcome hall.

So we met other radio station winners, got a special behind the scenes tour of the convention center and show along with radio personality Randy Scott and other show producers. It was super fun and Claire was such a good sport... 3 poopy diapers in one day... but a giggly happy attitude throughout all 6 hours at the show!

Grandma and Claire picked out a super cute hat (with matching shorts) for gardening and outdoor fun this summer - here's Claire showing off her hat at lunch courteousy of the radio station with all of the other radio winners at a restaurant across the street from the convention center. She entertained the whole group with her talking, laughter and honed pincher self feeding techniques.

It was a super fun day. You couldn't help but leave with tons of ideas and a desire to get out in the garden and make it an oasis. It just gets mom that much more excited about getting into our new house and tackling our very own yard again. Can you say water feature? The best purchase of the day was home delivery service of fresh organic eggs, cheese, milk and yogurt! Our first scheduled delivery at the new house - yes a bit odd of a flower and garden show vendor but their chocolate milk samples were super yummy! and sold me on signing up! Grandma walked away with lots of really neat garden "doo-waa's" as she calls them - really fun focal points and good ideas for the court yard water feature. Plus a rolodex of great vendors for future dreams coming true!
