all that he asked for and more...

Well Chris was remarking the other day as we were enjoying a balmy winter (50's... sunshine - pretty much completely different than what we were subjected to last year which was rain, rain, rain and more rain) that he missed the cold and the snow.

Since our last post it has snowed, snowed and snowed some more.. and when its not snowing it has been sunny and bitter cold (Grandma and Grandpa Z actually measured near "0" degree temps last night!)

Claire and I got up early this morning to hang out and do some chores around the house. We decided to get out and get a brief breath of fresh air. So I bundled Claire up in Cousin McKenzie's old snow suit and we ventured out with Breck to the back yard.. Here's Claire sitting on 8+ inches of snow on the patio furniture.

Most of Seattle (and the state of Washington) has been on vacation since the 17th or so as schools and business shut down Wednesday in anticipation of snow when none came more were out on the road on Thursday when we received our initial dump. Since then its been snowing. Before that we had the first snow that soon after turned to ice.. all very typical weather in our previous homes (Wisconsin and the Western Slope of Colorado) but very rare here.

It is now snowing again and with an already 8 or so inches on the ground its getting interesting... as I don't think the city of Seattle has nearly the plow man power that Colorado or Wisconsin did - not to mention all of the volunteer plowers, neighbors, etc that would pull out their plows and do the driveway rounds.. I highly doubt many if any have plows around these parts :)

(the snow pictures around the house are of a few days ago... more is falling now... and should make for great pictures in the morning!) We did venture out today between the snow falling and did some last minute Christmas shopping and stocking up on supplies - it looks like tomorrow will be fun around the house, wrapping, etc.

Christmas will be spent in the Seattle area this year. We hope to get together with the Herrman's again in the New Year. Holiday cards are in the works.. not the journal we used to send as its all here on the blog! But a fun picture. We hope to see you all soon - here's hoping our paths cross in the not so distant future.
