Claire with Great Grandpa Zaremba!
Well another week has somehow flown by.. how is it that the first few weeks of Claire's life I wondered if we would ever make it out of the tunnel and now life is just zooming by. I feel as though I am holding on to every day, hour, minute as though they are precious beyond imagination. It really is wonderful to be able to see her grow, smile, learn and just be the little person she is becoming. Truth be told I am having some serious issues with the thought of returning to work full time. The thought of not being here throughout the day to watch her be our little Claire bear is tough... of course others will be able to tell when she's hungry vs when she just wants to sit, smile and play or when her little grumpy episodes can be waived away with some dancing to a fun beat. Our little bear is growing up...little by little and its just too fun!
So we made our way over the Pullman last weekend. Claire was a real trooper in the car! What a fun road trip it was. We spent most of Saturday with Auntie Anne and had the good fortune of attending the football game to witness the WSU Cougars beat Portland State. Claire's first college football game was a success! (picture of her sleeping at the game above... - just like her mommy she could sleep through a rock concert or We all hung out with Annie's boyfriend Rich and friend Joey after the game. Sunday we got up early, met Annie for coffee and headed to Yakima to introduce Claire to her Great Grandpa Zaremba. Grandpa was super cute and we visited for about 3 hours just recounting fun stories and sharing ideas for the future.
Claire and I have been busy this week preparing for Grandma Pat's arrival next week. Some cleaning, organizing and planning together had made for a fun week. Grammy Z joined us again for dinner on Thursday - our Thursdays with Grammy Z have become a fun tradition and we hope they can continue. Thursday's are also our Pep's night (group of moms/dads with infants Claire's age in and around our neighborhood. There are 8 families in the group and we rotate whose house we go to each time. It's really a blast and we have been enjoying the advice, conversation, trials and tribulations that are common amongst families experiencing a similar situation to our own.
