2 Month Check Up (10 weeks actually...)

Long time no post...

A few recent trips out to Monroe to spend time with Grammy and Grandpa Z have happened since our last post. Claire just loves to hang out with cousin McKenzie, especially when McKenzie is giving kisses and nothing seems to make Claire smile more than to be sung to by Grammy Z.

9/9/08 marked Claire's 2 month check up at her favorite Pediatrician's office - the Pediatric Care Center at the University of Washington (of course!). Dr. Wright gave us copies of Claire's growth charts showing that her 13lbs 8oz and 24 inch length puts her in the 90th percentile for height and weight and right on target for her height/weight ratio. We're thinking she'll be a tall red haired Herrman.

We've been having lots of fun lately getting out and about. No excuse for not posting however.. so here are some more recent pictures.

Claire bear has been enjoying her "tummy time" and has really developed a cute smile! We love to hear her giggle and her daddy doesn't start the work day without a smile session in the nursery.

Claire has also been doing a lot of dancing lately. Lap dancing if you will.. She loves to bop around on our knees while groovin' to the music... country, reggae and top 10 are a few of her favorite genre's.

While at Claire's two month visit she also received her first major dose of vaccines. 3 shots and one oral vaccine later we had a little screamer on our hands.. but all in all she did well... I think mommy and daddy were more traumatized by the new depth of Claire's lungs than Claire was by the whole experience.

Claire is grasping rattles, toys and mommy's hair more and more. It's a treat to see her interacting more now. Here she is grooving to the music in her kitchen swingy chair rattling away on Daddy's heirloom rattle.

Last weekend was spent celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary (dinner out at Palisades with Claire - she slept the entire time - we couldn't have asked for a better anniversary gift), a baby shower for family friend Melissa, a trip or two to the dog park, a quick jaunt out to Monroe to view a home for the second time that we just love love love.....but can't imagine moving into in the near future... and a wonderful afternoon spent at Uncle Dick and Aunt Gayle's to celebrate cousin Mason's 1st birthday! What a family reunion that was! A big thanks to Richard and Stephanie for organizing the event and all of our extended family for making the trip - it was sure great to see everyone!

We are getting ready to host Chris's sister, Aunt Shel for the weekend and hope to get out and about doing fun stuff with Claire. We'll be sure and post some pictures from the fun weekend.
