39 Weeks

Today was our 39 week and 1 day check with the OB. Claire's movements have slowed a bit causing (no one but) me a little anxiety. So for my own sanity I was hooked up to a fetal monitor for some non stress testing for about 20-30 minutes and had an ultrasound to check fluid levels - both unexpected testing and unfortunately with how the ultrasound machine was positioned I really didn't get a good look at her.. I'm just dying to see her!! Both tests had expected results.

She has moved down a bit and the dilation continues to increase at a slow but reassuring pace. I know I know.. any day now.. is it so horrible that I wish any day was today? I keep reminding Claire every morning.. June 18th now wouldn't that be a nice birthday... tomorrow will be June 19th now wouldn't that be a nice birthday? We'll see when she finally decides to agree with me.

The boys and Breck are patiently awaiting her arrival as well. They have been super curious about what all this new stuff is around the house and have been very cuddly with mom.. it's been cute.

Chris has had the opportunity to take Breck to the dog park most weekdays which has been nice - a little luxury BC (Before Claire). But I'm hoping it's not too insane to think we'll resume outings at some point.. if even just Chris gets to go.

Grandma Z has cooked up some meals in anticipation for a delivery in the next few days - we (sister annie who is living with us too) are looking forward to those! Thanks mom.

Well hopefully there won't be any more posts with updates from clinic visits and only of Claire's arrival... I'm still working which is helping to make the days pass faster but it is interesting how I seem to be avoiding meetings in which if I were to go into labor or god forbid my water break that the people I'm around are of a more friendly nature (considering I work with the nicest people ever its hardly a case of avoidance more a scale of 1-10 embarrassment factor... at least they are all doctors and nurses :) and my labor room is just a few floors up.. calling my name.

Hang in there - once she's here you won't even remember when she wasn't here : )

OK, just to set the record straight! Grandma Z may have delivered the nice assortment of food items, but Grandpa Z played a BIG part in the food preparation :-(
Maybe not the lasagna, or the country-style spareribs & rice, but the grilled chicken oregano and rhubarb sauce were my contributions, and I participated in the applesauce, and all three varieties of soup.
Just to set the record straight :-)
C'mon Claire, let's get this show on the road ! TODAY would be nice :-) You go girl !
